ParticipantHi Jan
Thanks for the info on a rub, I will look to see if it can be
bought otc.Hi Annie
I’m not on any anti depressants so that’s ok.
I went to my local chemist today but they have stopped
selling it.Hope
ParticipantHi Rose
I have bought a coccyx cushion today, don’t know if it will help but had to try something.
I too can only sleep on one side and find it helps to sleep
on my stomach. I haven’t had a diagnosis for the pain, from what I have read there doesn’t seem much help for it. Could the Co-codamol be making things worse ?Sorry you are suffering too, it’s an awful pain, I can’t
stand anything touching my back .Hope
ParticipantI bought the Actipatch for lower back pain and
have been using it for two weeks now with no
relief at all.I hope others get some relief from using it.

ParticipantHi Annie
I have recently finished Benita Brown Dreaming out Loud, I love her books.I’m now reading Anna Jacobs, The Trader’s Gift,
it’s the 3rd one in the series.
Thank heavens for books!Hope
ParticipantHi Marriette.
I am post menopausal and this started about 4 years ago. I have tried an HRT cream but it gave me other problems so had to come off it after a week.
My pain seems to start off after food, I do take cystitis sachets but I have to take them for days before the pain eases. Thanks for your reply.Hope
ParticipantHi Jan
I have had many, many urine tests done,
all come back clear. I’ve even had a cystoscopy, again clear. I only drink water and have a very bland diet. I think I may have Interstitial cystitis but can’t get a proper diagnosis. Pain clinic thinks its Hyperalagesia.Di, I do use the cystitis sachets but they don’t help enough. Cranberry makes it worse.

ParticipantHi
Sprung bases are better than solid bases, they
“give” as you move.
I wouldn’t put hardboard under the mattress,
sounds like you need a firmer mattress.Hope.

ParticipantHi Navchic
How many 25mg tabs do you take a day ?
I’m supposed to start on 3 a day.Do you take them for nerve pain ?
Doctor told me to increase to 2 tabs 3 times a day after a week but I don’t know if I will be able to tolerate that amount yet.
I hope that I get some relief on the lowest dose
as I always suffer side effects on everything.Hope
ParticipantI have been on Oxynorm but it didn’t touch my pain, just made me sleep. I am on Diazepam already but again it doesn’t help the pain.
Di, I have had Bowen therapy, it made me feel awful after it, I couldn’t stop crying and was an emotional wreck for days after.
There isn’t a osteopath near me that deals with visceral pain, I had some osteopathy a few weeks ago on my back but again it didn’t help.Annie. I have been back to my GP and have been given Pregabalin, I dread taking it because of any side effects I might get, but I will give it a try because I can’t stand this pain anymore.
Hugs to all in pain today.

ParticipantThanks for the info, much appreciated.
I will keep my eyes closed and try to visualise relaxing in a warm sunny place.I’m desperate for some answers so will go through with it as you will try anything to ease your pain. Got the appointment through today and only have to wait 4 weeks so that’s good.
I do get a bit panicky in confined spaces but I’m sure I’ll be ok. Fingers crossed!
It’s good to know others have been through it have been ok.

ParticipantHi Di, Can you tell me the name of the consultant in London, I can’t find it.
I have a therapist near me that does myofascial release, he charges £75 for the 1st session and £50 for further sessions, expensive I think ? My GP won’t refer me to anyone, so I don’t know where to turn next, Iv’e been up all night again with the pain.
Would it be any use asking to see a physio ?I would be grateful for any advice on what to do next as I seem to have come to a full stop where gp is concerned.
Hope.

ParticipantHi Yardman, I have had many dipstick tests but
all have been clear. I have thought at times I might have bladder stones but nothing shows up.Di, thanks for the info. I have been thinking I have pudendal nerve problems for a while now as the symptoms do fit me.
Do you see a private physio or is it a NHS one ? There isn’t a consultant near me, I can’t find a myofascial release therapist either.
Do you find lying down brings on the pain ?
I always wake up in pain during the night, feel so exhausted all the time as never get enough sleep. -
