ParticipantWhy didn’t I realise that the stickers clip to the back of the cuff?! Helps to read instructions first. Duh! Anyway, I’ve set it on for the first 2 weeks setting and it’s quite comfortable around my leg. Annie x

ParticipantHi Christine, I think that’s what I’ll do, put it round my leg! And I’ll put the stickers on my lower arm. Annie x

ParticipantHi All,
I received my device yesterday and I’m going to start using it this morning. I think I’ll work through the 6 week programme.
How on earth do you get your sleeves over the top of the device?!
Where is everyone else placing their stickies? Chloe said that, as micro current works systemically, they don’t have to be put on the actual site of the pain.
Good luck. Lets hope it helps us all!

ParticipantNo, Christine, I didn’t try the AlphaStim. Did you? Any positive results?

ParticipantHi Marilyn,
Well done with your courses. Which ones are you doing? Is it something like Open University? It must take your mind off your pain. Nothing like distraction for that is there?!

ParticipantHi Hope,
I think that Tapentadol is an opioid and so is codeine, so I don’t think the two should be mixed, unless under strict medical supervision.

PS My tablet wanted to call it ‘tape tadpoles’!

ParticipantHi Rose,
I’m still here chugging along trying to do as much in my garden as I can – which, sadly, isn’t much these days.
The heat and lack of rain certainly affected the garden and everything looked very dull and listless. But, thankfully, it’s now a blaze of colour!
Glad you’re still up and running and hope that your weekend went well!
All the best,Rose, Anniecat x

ParticipantI’m reading John Boyne’s The Heart’s Invisible Furies. He wrote The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. It’s quirky and amusing to start with, but turns a bit darker later on.
It’s about the Irish Catholic attitude to gay-ness, and a boy’s struggle with it.
As a young man he moves to Amsterdam, so I hope there’s going to be a happy ending!
Mind you, it has over 600 pages, so a heavy book to hold when you’re in pain! X

ParticipantHi Laura,
Like you, this year is the first year that I’ve had to hand all my outside gardening over to my partner. I have managed to sow the seeds and get them going, but that’s as far as I can go. It’s so frustrating isn’t it.
I still enjoy watching everything happening out there, but it’s not the same as getting stuck into a bit of digging is it.
I take it that you’re the only gardener in your family?

ParticipantI’m due to go into hospital soon (hopefully) so, just out of interest, and if I’m not too dozy, I’ll ask what their routine with drugs is. X
anniekat
ParticipantSo sorry about that. They’re not telling you the truth though, are they? All the drugs you were given would’ve been noted down, I’m sure, especially controlled drugs like Oramorph! Can’t understand it. X
