Just a thought about sea sickness… P&O (and other companies no doubt) did a 3 day trip from Southampton to Bruge, you could try it out? Don’t know where you are living of course but there are bound to be similar ones. I have only felt sea sick once and that was in the Bay of Biscay but the stabilisers in ships are much better than they used to be. They have to be fairly steady or else no one would go on them!
