Hi

Hope you are all well. My issue is that one of the GPs at my surgery insisted I could not be referred for to the wheelchair service locally unless my health issues were “permanent”. That was quite upsetting as who is to say whether any condition will necessarily be permanent. We all have good and bad days surely. As it was, without my friend driving miles to lend me his mothers wheelchair, which is no longer in use, I would not have been out of my front door in 6 weeks. I didnt feel as if I could insist or push the issue with the GP but I would not even have been at the surgery if I hadnt had this borrowed, not forever wheelchair. On the handful of occasions I find I can walk about 20 yards it is still good to have it. I wonder what constitutes permanent in a GPs eyes. Thank you. Sarah x
