Neither my daughter or I had blisters, just (as you say) red weals. It was still shingles. In your case it is possible that if there ever were any blisters they would have had their tops rubbed off, they are very delicate and burst easily.
Hope the pain gets better soon. Some people’s shingles last for ages, but others can go quite quickly, I hope yours are the latter.
