I was going to suggest using the other brand because it is a matrix patch with the drug in the adhesive and the centre of the patch instead of a small square of drug with a sticky element.

but thats what you have done.

i was not needed.

but from my experience they are the biggest peak and trough “continuous” (!) pain management method that exists. i had exactly the same problem as you when i used it. I now use buprenorphine patches and daily sublingual top up through pain spikes because the side effects were not worth the inconsistent pain relief.

and the 3 day mental cycles drive you insane.
