Hi Lea,
After 3 months on crutches following a central prolapse, I had nerve root blocks done on L4,5 and S1. There was immediate effect that enabled me to walk without crutches and after a few days was walking again. This lasted quite a while and have had facet joint injection since which have been successful.
Some people have not had any benefit from this procedure but I recommend giving it a try.
