Hi Mrs Hurtyback,
Am in a similar position to you. I had discectomy (open surgery, not microdiscectomy) in 2007 then again in 2010, both on the same disc. I had to quit my job in 2009 and I miss my old job. Am in the middle of appealing my ESA as the they stopped it earlier this year so having to manage on £67.50pw. I’ve had severe back pain since 1996 and employers don’t want to know if you have a ‘dodgy’ back let alone if you’ve had spinal surgery. I feel like Im stuck between a rock and a hard place.
