Hi,

It sounds as if most who have had a SCS fitted have benefitted from it.

I have read a bit about them and asked my pain clinic (Salford) about the possibility of having one, but they said the NICE guidelines restrict SCS to patients with Failed Back Surgery Syndrome, and as I have CRPS, or as he put it, ‘just knee pain’, then I wouldn’t be accepted.

Having just read the NICE guidelines I see that this is in fact not true at all and has left me quite annoyed that they should blatently lie to someone for whom a SCS may be the breakthrough they have been waiting for.

I’m not happy and have just managed to get another appointment in December to the the pain dr again and I will be bringing this matter to their attention again.

I hope all continues to go well for everyone.

Regards

Stuart.
