After reading your post Rob the thought occurred to me that although a GP can request an ultrasound scan, I think a CT scan requires a Consultant’s signature.
Did you go ahead and have diathermy?
Hopefully as more and more scs’s are used the do’s and don’ts will be widely known throughout the medical profession. It’s so easy to be sure ‘they’ must know what they are doing, scarey to think they don’t.
