Sympathies added from me too Dave, one of life’s horrible surprises if it was a surprise. It may be a question of shutting stable door after horse has bolted but being in the same situation with my husband about walking etc, we decided in the end to buy a rather expensive but very wonderful mobility scooter which manages just about all terrain and has a very long battery life. See http://www.tramper.co.uk and it is as good as it looks. We are lucky to have the savings to spend on it, but we decided it took precedence over our other non-essentials and have not regretted it. Might try getting your partner to have a look at the website? We can certainly go on long ‘walks’ in the country, on the beach, on the downs, just about anywhere except really thick mud, and hope it might not be too late for you. Best, Jane
