Hi Folks – Bionic ones
There are many household things that are contra indicated when you have a Stimulator. I have a manual from Medtronic highlighting these things and it should be standard to get one from your doctors when they implant equipment in you….so ask them for one.
Most of the information is also available online of course.
Here is a list of the ones I can think of now:
The seal on your fridge or freezer contains a magnet so should be avoided.
Televisions and any kind of speakers; hairdryer cables, electric drills, and other power tools.
Credit cards and other bank cards are also included in this list.
Laptops can interfere with the Stimulator and vice versa, so it is strongly advised to keep them clear of the Stimulator.
I had my mobile phone near my Trial Stimulator and it gave me a terrible shock when the phone rang so now I keep my phone well away.
There is nothing to be worried about, but caution should be taken as we dont want to jeopardise the effect or battery life of the Stimulator
Best wishes
Amanda
