I work for an NHS Referral Management Centre and use Choose & Book all day to book patients hospital appointments. If you have a new referral for Pain Management, you can go to a hospital of your choice anywhere in England (except private hospitals if they don’t offer that service on the NHS and that you’ll be able to get there- you would also need to keep going back to that hospital for any further appointments or treatment). It may be worth doing a bit of research and contacting a couple of Pain clinics within a radius and asking if they can help to treat your problem if you get referred by your GP. Even better, if your GP states on the letter which hospital you want they can have it all ready before the C&B people in your area call you to book the appointment. Worth thinking about…..
