Thanks for your reply Shevee, really appreciate it – was desperate to hear from another Palexia user!
I have stopped taking it, after upping the dose and getting nowhere. I was in so much pain I was unable to sleep for more than a couple of hours and I was unable to get out of bed. Its half term, its my daughter’s birthday, and I wa just unable to be that debilitated and in agony for day after day, so I have decided its not for me.
It has been such a relief to go back on my trusty Tramadol and get almost instant relief. I think what decided me in the end (apart from the agony) was that I have never before had to “wait” for pain meds to work – yes you do for things like gabapentin, amitriptyline, but pain meds have always worked straight away, or not, and I just felt that it wasn’t even vaguely reaching the nerve, burning pain.
I am sure my GP will be relieved as Tramadol are much cheaper! I still have a few graduations of tramadol in hand so will look at alternatives when I am maxed out, but for now, its a med that works for me and allows me to move!
Glad to hear its working better for you, and dont want to put anyone else off trying it, we are all different. It just wasn’t for me and made me realise that without pain meds, I would not be able to even vaguely cope! Love Steph
