The Physio I saw gave me and exercise for this muscle as he said mine was in spasm and contributing to my pain. The exercise is as follows so you can try it if you wish…

Lie on you tummy on the floor, put your arms straight out in front of you….
Now, gently raise alternate leg and arm together off the floor. Right arm Left leg etc..
Do this for 5 times each side or for as many as you can…
Increase repetitions and stretch within your pain till you find a good level.

Do these twice a day and see if it helps..
