You were lucky – I didn’t get any sedative. Just lots of local anaesthetic. Next time will be better tho because although I go into theatre awake, I come out sleeping like a baby! I don’t know about others but I found the first part when they put the lead in actually really traumatic. I was in tears on the table because it was so painful. When I said how bad I’d found it the next day when they were going to finish the job and implant the battery, they said that I should have told them. I take it that crying and saying it hurt was a bit too subtle for them!
