Interesting Pip as the body has a natural reaction to reject foreign bodies and that is exactly what we have. So far as I know the metal used is the least likely to be rejected and I have never heard of it happening but maybe it can happen. The only time I have had a surgical implantation rejected by my body it came out generating great soreness and then puss through breaking skin through which it folowed. I still think it is highly unlikely in your case and mine has one corner that is under a far thinner layer than the others. It aggravates but never inflames. It must be very rare with metal implants because they are so widely used for all sorts of things. I hope you are not in that position.
